CITLALLI GUEVARA
Mexican pianist Citlalli Guevara was debuted as soloist with the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra in 2005, since then, she has toured Mexico as a Recitalist and soloist, appearing with State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra, Nuevo Leon Symphony Orchestra, Aguascalientes Symphony Orchestra, Sonora Philharmonic Orchestra, Michoacan Symphony Orchestra, Tamaulipas Symphony Orchestra, San Luis Potosi Symphony Orchestra and Xalapa Chamber Orchestra under conductors Enrique Bátiz, José Luis Castillo, Mario Mateus, Eduardo Sánchez-Zúber, Gabriela Diaz-Alatriste, José Miramontes Zapata and Armando Pesqueira; Performances in Festivals have included the Palm Beach International Piano Festival 2009 and 2010, West Palm Beach, FL, Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra Festival, Schumann-Chopin International Piano Festival, Cuernavaca, Mexico and the Junio Musical International Music Festival, Xalapa, Mexico.
First Prize Winner at the IV International Piano Competition 2006 (Mexicali, Mexico), 2nd Prize at the I National Piano Competition (Mexico, 1996) and Honorific Mention at the III National Piano Competition for young performers (Guanajuato, Mexico, 1995), Ms. Guevara has been awarded also with the Fulbright grant, the National Fund for the Culture and Arts grant, Cultural Institute of Veracruz Scholarship, the Veracruz Fund for the Culture and Arts Scholarship, the Azteca Foundation special award and the honorific award from the Governor of Veracruz.
Currently, Ms Guevara is Recitalist of the University of Veracruz and since 2008 has been performing extensively with her duo partner, bulgarian pianist Slavina Zhelezova. As part of the Guevara-Zhelezova Piano Duo, Ms Guevara has successfully toured Mexico both in Piano Duo Recitals and Orchestral engagements and keep a continuous international performance schedule.
Citlalli Guevara holds a Master in Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where she was student of Russian pianist Nina Svetlanova and is graduated of the University of Veracruz where her teachers were Laura Sosa and Alejandro Corona; From 2008 to 2010 attended the highly competitive program for young pianists “International Certificate for Piano Artists” working closely with Philippe Entremont, Nelson Delle-Vigne and Robert Roux. She also attended master classes from Oleg Maisenberg, Philippe Entremont, Jerome Lowenthal, Jean Philippe Collard, Robert Roux, Jorge Luis Prats, Michel Béroff Pascal Rogé, Jorge Federico Osorio and Edith Picht Axenfeld.
